So called *.def files are available for allowing parts or complete catalogs to be displayed in several languages. These files, as pure ASCII files, contain the relevant Translations of the various terms in the selection area.

Optimally, a catalog should be created in Englisch.
After finished translation, copy the "English" column to the "Default" column of translations (you can decide whether to overwrite existing entries or not). In many final media this is an important fallback. If a catalog really does not exist in English language, choose another language as default. In any case, this column should not remain empty.
