4.8.2.9.  Render attributes

[Note] Note

This setting option is only displayed on project level at 3D project and 3D bearing.

For the export format Maxwell Render you can assign the Render material and the Render Rotation here.

Background information

PARTsolutions/eCATALOGsolutions supports the rendering system "Maxwell Render". It supplies top-quality images. Rendering can be carried out directly in PARTproject. Assemblies can also be rendered from PARTsolutions directly. As an eCATALOGsolutions customer, you can now create high-quality product images for marketing (or print media). This saves you the money, which you would have otherwise had to spend on a photographer.

The figure to the right shows a few example images.

[Note] Note

This function is available, if you installed the Maxwell Render correctly.

The settings of the Render material dialog are used optionally under:

  • Export format Maxwell Render

PARTdataManager -> Export menu -> Image formats -> Maxwell Render

  • Export files in batch run with Maxwell Render (for example, preview images)

    • PARTdataManager -> Context menu of directory tree at directory and project level -> Export files in batch run -> dialog page Export files -> option Create preview images activated and format selection "Maxwell Render" -> dialog page Export in Maxwell Render format -> tabbed page Material

    • PARTproject -> Context menu of directory tree at directory and project level -> Output -> Export files in batch run -> dialog page Export files -> Option Create preview images activated and format selection "Maxwell Render" -> dialog page Export in Maxwell Render format -> tabbed page Material

The following explains how you can set the presettings for the material attributes:

Click under PARTproject -> Edit project -> tabbed page General1 -> Render attributes on the Browse button ....

-> The Render material opens.

The individual settings:

  • Material:

From the list field select the desired material. The preview image at the right offers an impression of the material display.

  • Index of refraction:

The refraction index gives the "average" light refraction of the visible spectrum.

  • Attenuation:

Light absorption: the higher the value, the darker

  • Roughness:

Large values reflect high roughness, so that light reflection is reduced

  • Anisotropie:

    Direction dependency of light refraction

  • Template:

On the Render material page you can create and save your own templates.

    The following functions are available:

    Load a template:

If you already created a template, you can select it from the list field and click on the Load icon.

    Save template:

Using the slide control, set the desired values and click on the icon.

-> A dialog for assigning a material name opens. Confirm with OK.

The new template can now be selected from the list field.

    Delete a template:

In the list field select the template to be deleted and click on the icon.

    Render preview:

Define the desired settings and click on the icon.

-> The Maxwell Render application opens and you can see your preview.

  • Use user material file:

You can create your own material files in Maxwell Render and select these here. In this case, mark the checkbox and via Browse ... set the desired file.

    [Note] Note

The file must be located under $CADENAS_DATA.
