    1. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and your background?

I live in Samarkand, Uzbekistan (former capital of the Empire of Amir Timur). After I graduated, I got a job at a local engineering factory, working as an engineer technologist. Strong interest in iron/steel manufacture was evident from an early age and that was influenced by my father. If dad often drove me to the farm, for example, then I would certainly become a livestock expert or biologist, but as the historians say - history does not tolerate subjunctive mood.

    2. What software(s) do you use?

I used AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Solid Works, Inventor, etc.  Currently, I am working on Inventor, a good software I really like (not impressed with others).

    3. When and how did you start with 3D modeling and what was your first model?

Good question. The first model is like the first love; I remember like it was yesterday - it was a model of a mechanism! It is a pity that it was not preserved (the computer got “fried”, unfortunately). I began with 3D modeling in Autocad. I read in a magazine about 3D modeling (mid 90’s) and I got curious. When I heard there was a program for 3D modeling, I acquired it and installed it on a “powerful” Pentium 4!  :)

    4. What are your favorite modeling subjects/themes?

I am interested in anything that moves, flies or swims. But my passion is aviation and motorcycles! I really need to get rid of it… Just kidding! ;)

    5. Are you also into 3D printing?

3D printing is certainly very interesting, but I am not into it yet. It is possible to check it in future, we will see.

    6. Is there any specific 3D model you are really proud off and why?

Yes, it is the motorcycle model HS400. I think that is my best model, even although I would like to change a lot of things on it. To many of us, the bike/motorcycle is something what represents freedom (or just an illusion of freedom).

    7. What was the most challenging project you have done?

That bike. It wasn't an easy project. I did not have any drawings or info, so had to improvise.

    8. As one of our most active members on PARTcloud.net, what do you find so attractive about it?

Your site carries a creative spirit, a creative passion and that is very important. Perhaps because of this, people are tempted to be a part of it.

    9. What features in PARTcommunity/PARTcloud you would like to see in future?

I have not figured it out yet. Maybe to expand the list of topics (as a simulation)?

    10. Do you have any other hobbies?

I am very interested in the history of technology and history in general.

    11. Do you have any goals in future regarding 3D modeling?

I wish to improve my 3D modeling skills.

    12. What advise would you give to beginners?

In the first place, you have to be interested in 3D modeling. Plus, you need to have a lot of patience, but results will be visible very soon. Do not give up, try different ways. Thanks to the efforts of software developers, tools are available for everyone and that should be more than enough to achieve your goals. There is a Russian proverb: "If you work hard - the results will come". If there is no interest, it will not work. So, newbies - be patient! :)
